I stayed the night at Narrabri. It is well known for the Australian Observatory and the Cotton Museum but I will remember it for the accommodation. I stayed here last time and I liked my room and had a good stay. I particularly liked the fresh air coming in through the ceiling. This time my fresh air vent was just a great foil lined hole. The bed was a double bunk with an ugly and useless sink jutting into the lower bunk.

The less than friendly lady that booked me in told there were no single rooms and so I had had to pay for a double. On my way to my room there were several unoccupied single rooms which had unmade beds so it was more likely she could not be bothered preparing one. My room was a disappointment. The furniture was shabby with missing drawers and broken handles.

There were spiders in the corners of the ceiling and the curtain track was falling off it’s track.  The towels were old and frayed and there was paint coming off the ceiling and furnishings. The fan was cracked and old and the switch was only accessible from the top bunk. The close up view of the cell phone tower outside my window wasn’t an asset and the hallway smelled damp. Don’t even get me started on the sad damp bathroom. This would be one of the worst places I have ever stayed in. I sure was unlucky this time.
